I had the great pleasure and honor a couple months ago to visit a wonderful entrepreneur who has been a leading inspiration for me through the years. Her name is Christi Apodaca.
In 2012 she founded C&Co.® based on the principles of efficacy, integrity and transparency. She made it her mission to create a line of skin and body care products that were formulated with non-toxic ingredients, were transparent in their messaging, yielded effective and long-term results, and still maintained a luxurious feel on the skin. C&Co.® was born.
I went into the C&Co.® store hoping to run into her. There was a change occurring within her business and store and I was excited to talk with her about what’s next. As we talked I was struck by a sense of sadness  and excitement with her about the change. And, why wouldn't there be. Change can be uncertain.Â
When we visualize our dreams for so long and then they come true and then change occurs at some point within that success, we can't help but think that maybe it's a loss. Albeit it is a loss, it's not a loss of the dream. It's a loss of the expectation of how that dream would play out. The dream itself is still alive, evolving, and adapting to the new circumstances. Pivoting to a new dream can be a scary leap, but it's often necessary to keep the original dream alive. It's like changing the path to reach the same destination, ensuring that the journey remains exciting and fulfilling.
As Christi and I talked, it became clear that her pivot wasn't a setback but a strategic shift. By embracing the change, she was not only preserving the essence of her dream but also setting the stage for a new chapter of growth and innovation. Her story serves as a powerful reminder that even in the face of uncertainty, it's possible to navigate change with grace and resilience. Sometimes, the most beautiful journeys begin with a new dream.Â
