Pursuit of Balance is a newly established 501(c)3 Non-Profit institution designed to support the mental wellbeing of both children and the school community that surrounds the child by teaching necessary life skills and tools that support psychological and emotional health.

Our mission is to support disadvantaged and underprivileged communities through education so that everyone has the opportunity to live confidently with cohesiveness, authenticity, and resilience.

OUR WHY

Statistics show both depression and suicide rates have increased exponentially for not only adults but for children as young as seven. At this time there is no solid plan in place to address this national crisis.

  • 1 in 6 U.S. children aged 2–8 years (17.4%) have a diagnosed mental, behavioral, or developmental disorder. Source: CDC

  • 7.1% of children aged 3-17 years (approximately 4.4 million) have diagnosed anxiety. Source: CDC

  • Suicide is the fourth leading cause of death among 15-19 year-olds. (WHO, 2021)

The consequences of failing to address these mental health conditions can extend to adulthood, impairing both physical and mental health and limiting opportunities to lead fulfilling lives as adults.

Help us be a part of the solution.

Through personal development programs like Pursuit of Balance, we can effectively address the urgency to improve the social and emotional  well-being of both children and the adults who nurture and surround them.

Help Us Continue The Good Work

In 2022, the Pursuit of Balance Non-Profit made considerable progress to grow our presence in our communities and connect educators and children to the Pursuit of Balance program:

  • We sponsored two Professionals in Education to go through the Pursuit of Balance Program

  • We participated in “Healthy Kids Day” in Wilmington, NC where we met over 2,000 attendees.

  • We supported the YMCA of Southeastern North Carolina's After-School Program called "Excel After The Bell" with bi-weekly instruction at two different school locations, serving a total of 78 children ages three to nine for the 2022-2023 school year

  • We developed and produced Pursuit of Balance learning materials & activities with positive affirmations for Children

Your donation will help us to:

  • Provide materials that help to teach the Pursuit of Balance Lifestyle to children

  • Partner with two new schools to continue delivering the programs to children

  • Offer the program to teachers, social workers, and those who surround our children

  • Foster community engagement by participating in local events such as the afterschool program(s)

If you are able to make a donation of any amount, please do so below and know that our hearts are filled with gratitude!
